Have you ever wanted to be the face of an organization? As a Plantory Front Desk Friend, you can be! We're looking for committed volunteers to be stationed at the front desk of our facility. This volunteer would greet all guests, answer phones, accept and distribute mail and packages, and assist Plantory Staff as needed. Ideally, this volunteer would be social, outgoing, and willing to be acquainted with a variety of different types of people. The position only requires a few hours a week and several different shift options between 9am and 5pm, Monday through Friday, are available to fit a volunteer's needs. This position is ideal for retired community members and students, as there would be plenty of time for reading, studying, and socializing. For more information, contact us today!

About The Plantory

Mission Statement
The Plantory is Central Kentucky's nonprofit resource center providing services, connections, and training opportunities to strengthen, support, and grow the capacity of local nonprofit organizations. Many nonprofits struggle to survive and maximize efficiencies because they cannot afford to work outside their homes or connect with other organizations. We meet a critical need in Lexington’s nonprofit world by intentionally growing our community as an affordable center where cooperation and creativity can flourish through workspace, meeting space, incubation services, workshops, and networking events.
Description
By uniting different nonprofits under one roof and working together, we strengthen ourselves and Lexington’s larger nonprofit community. In 2012, our first year, 2000+ people collaborated at The Plantory. Our members report enhanced organizational credibility, increased collaboration, greater productivity, positive growth, and happier workdays. We support our nonprofit members in every way we can, from helping with grant writing to hosting a weekly lunch. We provide office space, high-speed internet, meeting rooms, photocopy and fax machines, kitchen facilities, audio-visual equipment, mailboxes, and the best tasting coffee in town.
Because of collaboration, resource-sharing and activated programming, our members thrive here. They can cross-pollinate with other organizations and have greater impact on their causes.
