Volunteers go into classrooms, K-12 as consultants to guide students through one of our programs by helping them to understand the importance of education and business; to encourage students to stay in school; and to stimulate interest in careers and business with hands on activities. Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches serves Palm Beach, Martin, and Hendry counties. The volunteer will bring their own unique business and personal experiences into the classroom and will act as a role model from the local community. The time involved is typically one hour per week for 5 to 8 weeks inside the classroom with the teacher as a facilitator. The lessons and all materials are provided. There is a training session for the volunteer before entering the classroom.
