We need your help! The Cheyenne River Youth Project is looking for energetic, dedicated, and passionate individuals and groups to volunteer. Volunteers work hard at CRYP to provide a fun, safe place for children to come spend time with us everyday. Among other tasks, they help staff implement much of the youth programming we do, aid in the delivery of family services, prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children, and perform day to day operational tasks such as building maintenance and fundraising. Our volunteers put in long hours and lots of hard work but the experience is a life changing one.
The Cheyenne River Youth Project was created and continues to operate in the spirit of volunteerism. Without volunteers, willing to give their time and energy to our mssion, we simply would not be the organization that we are today. Volunteers bring many different gifts and talents to CRYP and we strive to challenge these individuals and show them where they can be best utilized, so that they will feel a true part of our efforts. Most importantly, they are responsible for caring for our children. This is no small task, but rather the most significant contribution that a volunteer can make. When we place our children in the hands of volunteers, we are trusting them with our future.
We are looking for both the short and long term volunteers. For more information on our organization and the application process, please visit lakotayouth.org. We hope to see you soon!

Mission Statement
The mission of the Cheyenne River Youth Project (CRYP) is to provide the youth of the Cheyenne River reservation access to a vibrant and secure future through a wide variety of culturally sensitive and enduring programs, projects and facilities, ensuring strong, self-sufficient families and communities.
Description
In the last 25 years, CRYP has developed into one of the largest direct social services programs on the Cheyenne River Reservation and the only such program that is tailored to meet the special needs of the community. CRYP programs and services have grown, with the community, to face the challenges presented to each new generation of youth. The poverty that exists on the Reservation has had a profound effect on family structure and self-esteem (for both adults and children), and contributes to a variety of social ills such as drug and alcohol dependency, neglect and abuse. CRYP serves the community by offering youth programs and family services that immediately improve lives and create opportunities for the future through fostering healthy choices and practices in all life areas.
