Children’s Program Assistant
Description:Provide care and support of children in the shelters. Implement age-appropriate activities including group games, interactive play, crafts, reading and occasional field trips, etc.
Time Commitment:Weekly, 2-3 Hour Shifts 9:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday
Location: Fort Worth or Arlington Shelter
Requirements: Training: New Volunteer Orientation & Specialized Children’s Prog. Training
Age: Minimum 16 years of age, 14 if accompanied by parent or guardian
Personal: Must enjoy working with children and have good nurturing skills. Volunteers must be able to lift 25 pounds.

Domestic violence shelters that provide emergency housing for women and children. Case management, counseling and support groups are available for all clients. Community education and prevention programs are also an important part of the services provided.
