You will be trained to be a radio host for the New Heights Educational Group radio show on Education. We currently offer three shows a fifteen minute show on Fridays and thirty minute show on Saturdays and thirty minute show on Sundays. We discuss a wide variety of educational topics with our audience. We would like to offer more radio shows during the week too.
We are looking for a VOLUNTEER to host a half-hour radio show on common core once a week. We would give the necessary training and the volunteer can choose the time of the show on any one of the days Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. This show would keep all listeners up to date on anything to do with common core across the nation.


No prior experience is necessary. You just need a pleasant speaking voice and a passion for a specific topic.

Journalism, Broadcasting or Public relations is a plus but not required.

Three references, including email addresses and phone interview.

Major Duties

Prior to the broadcast, presenters may be involved in:

  • Researching topics and background information for items to be featured on the program. (You can request help from a researcher if needed.
  • Planning shows.
  • Writing scripts or guides to follow. These should be sent in with the marketing links three days before show airs every week.
  • Liaising with other NHEG staff.
  • Sharing press release and other NHEG news, volunteer birth dates and other special announcements.

During the broadcast, presenters may be involved in:

  • Introducing and hosting programs.
  • Interviewing guests in the studio, by telephone.
  • Playing music.
  • Reading short news.
  • Providing links between programs.
  • Reading from a script or improvising.
  • Keeping the programs running to schedule; responding positively and quickly to problems or changes and improvising where necessary.
  • Remember you are speaking for NHEG when you are on the air. Any controversial topics should be shared and approved by us first. You are to act in a responsible and caring manner.
  • Remember do not shorten or amend our mission statement in any way.
