About

Volunteers are an important part of the hospice team. Even though they do not provide hands on care, they do touch patients and families deeply by providing relief to caregivers, running errands and by offering compassion and support to patients and their families during this difficult time.

To ensure our volunteers are equipped for the challenge of working with the dying, Pathways provides extensive orientation and training. Training is conducted by our professional staff including RN’s specializing in palliative care, medical social workers, hospice chaplains and bereavement counselors. Volunteers are considered an integral part of Pathways Hospice team and receive on going supervision and training.
