At the YMCA of San Joaquin County we build strong minds, character and bodies for all youth in our community. Our coaches are an essential part of this mission, and we are currently seeking volunteers for our upcoming youth basketball leagues.
As a coach you determine the kind of experience our athletes have with sports. We expect you to be a Double-Goal Coach, one who strives to win (one goal), while pursuing the more important goal of teaching life lessons through sports. To these ends, your responsibility is to provide leadership as a coach and serve as a positive role model for our athletes by promoting the YMCA goals of skill development, effort, participation, fun, teamwork, respect, encouragement, family involvement and fitness.

Description
The YMCA of San Joaquin County was founded in 1885 and provides programs in Stockton, Linden and Lodi. our YMCA is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors with twenty-five members. An additional 500 plus volunteers serve our YMCA and community as coaches, mentors, fundraisers, and tutors. Our YMCA has five full-time professional level employees, with another 75 to 100 part-time and/ or seasonal employees.
