Volunteer with Full Life's Get Active Program (GAP), a day health program for adults (18 to 60 ) with developmental disabilities such as Down's Syndrome and Autism. The GAP is designed to increase socialization, develop life skills and help people maintain independence while providing respite for caregivers.
We call it the Get Active Program for a reason - there's never a dull moment! Participants enjoy a variety of fun group activities such as art, reading, nail care, beadwork, karaoke, balloon volleyball, field trips (and more!), with the added benefit of nursing, occupational therapy, and exercise.
Volunteers assist staff by greeting clients as they arrive, visiting with them one on one, helping to set up & implement activities, and serving meals.
Volunteers should be able to commit to coming weekly for 2 hours, for 3 months or longer. Volunteers must be available on weekday afternoons.
