Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.
The Seagoville Animal Shelter is the only municipal animal shelter in the State of Texas with a live release rate of over 96%! That is thanks to volunteers who help our animals get adopted by raising money for spays, neuters, vaccines and microchips and taking the animals to off-site adoption events at places like Petco, Tractor Supply and many others. Our volunteers walk, bathe, train, photograph, video and network our shelter pets to give them the best possible chance at finding their new family. We are always looking for new volunteers who want to make a difference in the life of a shelter pet. No experience is necessary but this will be the experience of a lifetime and something you can carry with you the rest of your life. You will go home with a feeling of accomplishment knowing you saved a life. Print out our volunteer application at the link below and join our team of hardworking, dedicated volunteers who breathe new hope into the lives of lost and abandoned pets who have plenty of love to give.
