The American Cancer Society is always in need of good people who want to volunteer. During the week in the office we need help with the reception desk. We also need people to sign up for project work to help with mailings and event preparation. When large projects come up, we coordinate with team members to come in and work a few hours to get it out.
Some of our staff plan large events (April to October) in Placer, Yuba, Sacramento and Yolo counties. Preparing for them takes months and we always look for reliable volunteers to come in and help with them on a consistent basis.
If weekends are better, event day volunteers are always needed. Whether you give your time helping at a Golf Tournament (June), the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk (October), the Gala (September), or any of the Relay For Life walkathons in the spring and summer, you will be helping the American Cancer Society provide services to cancer patients and help fund new promising researchers working towards a cure for cancer.
If you are interested, please include your cell and email, so we can communicate quickly. High school students who would like to volunteer - please tell me you are a high school student and working on community service hours.
Thank you for considering the American Cancer Society.
