Volunteer at Alphabet Trail and Tales, Pittsburgh's Premier Early and Elementary age Literacy Event! Alphabet Trail, held each year in beautiful Frick Park, is filled with life-size, interactive story sets that support live story readings performed by children's authors and professional readers. Letter-themed games, a wide variety of exciting art and enrichment activities and the best in children's entertainment bring fun along the trial for the entire family. Please join us to help support story sites and educational craft and literacy stations along the trail!

Mission Statement
The mission of "Alphabet Trail and Tales", the largest "Read Aloud" event in Pittsburgh, is to support and promote early and elementary age literacy awareness. Citiparks "Alphabet Trail and Tales" is a free, fun family event that provides educational programming focused on children's books, music and art.
Description
Citiparks "Alphabet Trail and Tales" draws 5,000 people annually for a day of reading and fun in beautiful Frick Park, at Beechwood Boulevard at Nicholson Street. Children and families walk along the Alphabet Trail, listening to stories read aloud in an outdoor setting and enjoying children's activities. Alphabet Trail and Tales hosts many important agencies that serve children and families throughout the greater Pittsburgh region.
