ORGANIZATION: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation - Southfield, MI

We need enthusiastic and passionate volunteers to assist us with set-up, clean-up and various Walk day volunteer stations. We are need of the following positions:

  • Site Set-up (6:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.) - You will be asked to physically unload supplies, cover tables, deliver water to rest stops. Manual labor required.
  • Parking (6:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.) - Direct Motorists into parking garage.
  • Greeter (7:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.) - Enthusiastic volunteers to distribute programs, greet and direct people into the walk site.
  • Registration (7:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.) - College pledge envelopes and registration envelopes. Must be 18 years or older.
  • T-Shirt Distribution (7:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.) - Distribute JDRF Walk T-shirts
  • Refreshment Tent Shift 1 (7:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.) - Unload food/beverages from refrigeration truck and set up at stations.
  • Refreshment Tent Shfit 2 (9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.) - Assist in making sure ample food and beverages are available at each food/beverage station.
  • Face Painters (8:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.) - Paint simple face designs for children. Kits will be provided.
  • Moon Walk Operator (8:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.) - Assist children getting in and out of moon walk (bounce house).
  • Rest Stop (9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.) - Provide water to walkers along the route
  • Site Clean-Up (10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) - Empty trash cans, remove table coverings, remove signage/banners. Heavy to moderate labor needed.
