ORGANIZATION: Real Change Homeless Empowerment Project

The 24th Annual Real Change Fundraiser Breakfast is coming up on Tuesday, September 18th and we're looking for volunteers who can help make it a success! As the biggest Real Change event of the year, a ton of effort goes into the planning and execution of our annual breakfast and we simply could not do it without the help of awesome volunteers like you!

This breakfast takes place at the Washington State Convention Center and draws more than 500 attendees each year. Our keynote speaker Nick Licata, a retired member of the Seattle City Council and author of "Becoming a Citizen Activist," is a can’t-miss and sure to inspire!

On September 18th, volunteers are needed from 6:30am-10:00am at the Convention Center. This is an ideal shift for a busy professional, student, or early-bird. Volunteers will be assisting with greeting, registering, and seating guests. Set-up will be needed prior to the event and clean-up afterward. A short training and coffee will be provided at 6:30am, immediately before the event.

Volunteers must be able to commit to the full shift from 6:30am-10:00am. Volunteers must be 18 years old or older. Groups are encouraged to volunteer, but leads should check with the Volunteer Manager to confirm space before signing up.

To sign-up or for more information, please contact Katie Comboy at volunteer@realchangenews.org or call (206) 441-3247 x212.

Description

Founded in 1994, the Real Change Homeless Empowerment Project is an award-winning nonprofit newspaper that provides immediate employment opportunity to homeless and low-income people throughout the Pacific Northwest. Highly regarded as the leading street newspaper in North America, Real Change provides a low-barrier employment opportunity to an average of 250 homeless and low-income individuals each month while challenging the structures that create poverty. We envision a just, caring and inclusive community, where people are no longer marginalized by racism and classism and have the means to live with dignity.
