Volunteers are needed at the 10th Annual Pioneer Days Festival on Saturday, 9/14/19.
Choose at least one of the following shifts:
- 9:30am-12noon, Help set up tables, chairs, tents and supplies
- 12pm-4pm, Demonstrate pioneer crafts, arts and games for kids and families (arrive by 11am for instructions)
- 3:30pm-5pm, Clean up crew
Pioneer Days is a free event for children and their families. We expect over 300 attendees depending on weather. Participants can experience pioneer life for an afternoon with a variety of old-time crafts, games, demonstrations and folk music. Learn more at http://www.jobcarrmuseum.org/.
No experience necessary.
Demonstrations may include folk art, quilting, sewing, knitting, weaving, spinning, woodworking, crafts, and pioneer games. If you have a talent to share, please let us know.
We welcome volunteers of all ages, interests and skill levels.

Description
The Job Carr Cabin Museum is a replica of Job Carr's log cabin, originally built in 1864/65, as the first permanent non-native residence in Tacoma. The Museum houses interpretive historical displays and artifacts from Tacoma's early days. Educational history programs and tours are provided for school children, educators, history buffs, community residents and visitors to our city.
