About

The Special Care Dining Companion Program pairs volunteers with patients requiring feeding assistance to create an enjoyable meal experience and an opportunity for socialization. Volunteers will get to know the patients and provide assistance on a weekly basis.

This is an ideal opportunity for nursing students, retired nurses, speech therapy students, and people with a good heart that just want to help.

Complete training is provided. Volunteers will experience the satisfaction of providing an enjoyable meal experience with their new friend on a weekly basis. The impact of this program is to maximize nutritional intake and enjoyment and provide meals on a timely basis.
