Volunteers Needed_Bookkeeping:

Skills helpful: Bookkeeping, organizing, filing and/or someone with reasonable organizational capacities and willingness to help.

We are working with some highly disorganized people, who are significantly impaired, but who need assistance. One of the realms needed includes helping a person organize their income streams, the bills that need to get paid, their filing system or organizational system(s) for handling such things, so that the person will not chronically incur late fees and the like. Keeping track of what has and has not been paid, keeping track of paperwork. Overall improved filing system would be next phase.

Ideal candidates: Business majors? Retired people with bookkeeping backgrounds? Individuals with a lot of patience, organizational skills, who might be able to help.

Hands-on help needed for hoarding and cluttering clients. Help them organize and file, reduce clutter, help them manage their anxiety enough that they can begin to attend better to daily affairs (opening and sorting mail, getting rid of recycling, etc.) Sensitivity and patience required. Good organizational skills required. Ability to be entirely fragrance-free required as many of the people we work with have chemical sensitivities.

Clients we serve are in various parts of the Bay Area (East Bay, San Francisco, Pacifica, etc.) so having a car is a big plus. Please let us know what days of the week and how many hours per week you are available. Supervision group/ training included.

Location: The client for whom we are looking for help lives in Pacifica.

About Association of Professionals Treating Eating Disorders

Location:

3195 California Street, Suite #E, San Francisco, CA 94115, US

Mission Statement

We are a small non-profit organization dedicated to providing referral information and treatment to people suffering from eating disorders, referral information and training to professionals working with those struggling with eating disorders, and providing prevention efforts to help decrease the outbreak of eating disorders.

Description

We are an organization comprised of health and mental health professionals from all around the SF Bay Area, we also have a low-fee, sliding scale clinic that treats eating disorders for people who have low income, no insurance, and/or for people who wish to receive specialized treatment from professionals with particular expertise with this population.

We are looking to enlarge our Board of Directors to include people who have expertise beyond our expertise. We particularly are looking for physicians and psychiatrists willing to reach out to their professional communities to try to interest more MDs in learning about and becoming willing to treat eating disorders (we are not finding enough providers in these two categories, especially).

Secondly, we are looking for individuals with areas of expertise in other fields -- beyond what we have -- such as people who have expertise in Marketing, Tax prep, Grant-writing and fund-raising, Web design, business development, and so forth.
