The Ward 8 Farmers's Market, now in it's 16th year of bringing fresh food to DC's most under-served neighborhoods, needs volunteers for the following:
- Door-to-door community outreach to increase awareness of and attendance at the market
- Passing out fliers about the market at high-profile community events
- Setting up on Saturday mornings starting at 9
- Assisting customers during the market
- Serving and supervising children and youth who come for free meals
- Packing up the market at 3 pm

Mission Statement
The Ward 8 Farmers' Market Cooperative is dedicated to providing and improving the healthy food options for the residents of Ward 8 and nearby communities. The goal is for people from these communities to eat fresher, more natural and nutritious foods, and adopt healthier lifestyles for the longterm benefit of the individuals, their children and families, and society.
Description
The market operates every Satruday from the begining of June through Thanksgiving from 9 am to 1 pm in the parking lot of the Town Hall Education, Arts, and Recreation Campus (THEARC) and features locally produced vegetables, fruits, meat, plants, fragrances and more.
