This opportunity is for compassionate individuals to serve in hospice with staff support, patient visits, phone calls, administrative assistance, and including many more activities. We provide training and support to our volunteers. We are also looking for vigil volunteers. Providing companionship and presence to those who are lonely is a rewarding gift. Description
Hospice care is not just for the patient. It also provides emotional support for the entire family. Hospice care includes a team of doctors, nurses, social worker, home health aide, chaplain and trained volunteers. This team works together focusing on the patient's needs, whether it be physical, psychological or spiritual. Most hospice volunteers are trained to relieve primary caregivers by helping with household chores, sitting with patients or running errands for them. The most improtant task, however, is their ability to be good listeners. Hospice volunteers also provide administrative assistance to the hospice care team by working in the office.
