Key Responsibilities

  • Helps care for children so that their parents can attend support groups
  • Childcare workers supervise and teach social skills while overseeing appropriate children’s activities.
  • Volunteers use creative approaches to activities and esteem building interactions.
  • Provide a safe, fun and creative play environment for children.
  • Provide active, positive role modeling for children and their families.
  • Communicate needs and concerns as they arise to a supervisor.
  • Follow Family Tree child abuse reporting procedures as a mandated reporter.
  • Assist with maintaining cleanliness of childcare area.

The mission of Family Tree is to help people overcome child abuse, domestic violence and homelessness to become safe, strong and self-reliant.

Description

Family Tree is unique because it is the only agency in the Metro Denver area working to address the interconnectedness of child abuse, domestic violence and homelessness.

Family Tree helps people become safe, strong and self-reliant by offering a wide spectrum of services, including: emergency shelters for runaway and abused youth, women and children victims of domestic violence, and homeless women and children; counseling and support groups; parenting and self-sufficiency classes; temporary and permanent housing; transportation assistance; supervised visitation and safe exchange programs, among other services.
