Atlanta's SNAP - Spay Neuter Assistance Program - organization has had tremendous response from using descriptive storytelling techniques to help engage public interest in our teenage and older cats. We are overwhelmed with more need than our volunteers can currently handle, particularly with kitten season upon us. To help us address this, we have put together the Adopt-a-SNAP-Cat Creative Writing Volunteer Position as unique chance to create engaging profiles which in turn support the adoption of our animals.

  • Pictures of cat/kitten that needs a bio
  • Provided with baseline information about the pet.
  • Information about the cats' personalities.
  • Help available about our general template for profiles including...
    • Key elements of telling a good story
    • The who/what/where/when of each cat
    • Looking for engaging themes about each cat
    • The importance of offering a positive vision for the cat's future
    • Putting the story together
  • All stories used on the SNAP blog will be credited to the writer.
