The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know about the most effective ways to contribute.
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is seeking volunteers who would like to help.
The ReStore is a discount home improvement center where new and gently used appliances, furniture and building materials are donated and then resold to the public for much less than the market value. All of the proceeds go towards building housing in partnership with those in need in Eastern Connecticut through the mission of Habitat for Humanity of Eastern Connecticut.
Habitat for Humanity seeks to eliminate homelessness and poverty by creating affordable housing.
Some of the tasks volunteers can participate in are organizing merchandise, displaying merchandise, unloading trucks, cleaning, refurbishing donated merchandise, pricing items, greeting customers, answering customer questions, delegating tasks to other volunteers and being a cashier.
Please contact email@example.com or 860-442-7890 ext 201 if you would like to volunteer to do this.
