We are going to the Fair---the Minnesota State Fair. You can volunteer to help someone experience a day at the Fair. Please join us!
Vision Loss Resources' Community Center needs your help to make the State Fair accessible for clients. Our clients are blind or visually impaired. Clients may require assistance navigating in crowds or walking on sidewalks and paths. You can assist by escorting a client. You will make the day special by describing the sights of the fair to help your partner share in the experience.
This is a great opportunity to share what you think makes the Fair special...the chill surrounding the butter princess, the crowd around the lambs being born, or maybe the smell of cotton candy on the Midway. You will help someone see the fair through your eyes.
We need volunteers to work one-on-one with clients. We will train you and support you. Admission to the fair is free for qualified volunteers, courtesy of our friends at the State Fair Board. We will provide reimbursement for transportation/parking and some money towards food.
