We just opened a cool cat lounge in downtown long beach and we think cats go with everything (including volunteer service)!!! If you love cats like we do and want to contribute to a great cause which is helping to rescue abandoned, abused or homeless cats...we could use volunteer help in support our cool, clean, comfy lounge!
Our Mission is to provide a mutually-beneficial social interaction opportunity between humans and cats in a fun and comfortable setting with the goal of placing our cats into permanent homes. All proceeds from Feline Good sales benefits the rescue, wellness, safety & re-homing of homeless cats.
Some people call it Kitty Care, some call it Cat Care BUT We call it CPD for Cat-panion Duty!
What does that mean?
You will be onsite to help us with our key shifts by:
- Interacting with 25+cats
- Cleaning during downtime and/or as needed
- Interacting with guests
Responsibilities
- Greet and engage with all guests and guide their experience in the lounge.
- Offer friendly tips for how to interact with the cats, share fun facts about the individual personalities, offer to take guests photos, and generally make sure everyone is having an awesome time!
- Execute all required daily cleaning responsibilities including cleaning litter pans, vacuuming, mopping, window cleaning, laundry. etc.
- Ensures all litter boxes are scooped immediately and on the hour - with 20+ cats in house quick attention to detail keeps the space looking and smelling clean!
- Feeds cats as instructed daily.
- Understands adoption process, is able to answer questions for guests and facilitate submission of adoption applications.
- Follows all procedures and requirements for communicating cats health and wellness concerns to management

Mission Statement
Long Beach Felines is a non-profit organization with the mission to rescue, protect and find loving homes for stray, abandoned, neglected and abused kittens and cats. We have partnered with Feline Good Social Club to provide a home for our adoptable cats where people can socialize, meet the cats and then potentially adopt a cat all in support of cat rescue and the promotion of enriching, educational connections between cats and people.
Description
Long Beach Felines is an all-volunteer organization with 501(c)(3) federal tax exempt status. Our founding members have over 20 years of combined cat rescue experience and have collectively placed hundreds of cats into loving homes. We have no paid staff and receive no government funding. We rely on fundraising efforts and private donations to support our cause and provide food, supplies and medical care for our cats.
Now in association with Feline Good Social Club, we have opened a retail lounge which will focus on further supporting our mission by providing our cats with a safe, loving temporary home and our guests a special opportunity to socialize with cats and people in a fun, comfortable, and playful environment. Whether guests wish to hang out with the cats while relaxing, working, and playing or having a special event, the lounge will offer ample seating, free Wi-Fi, and working space for everyone.
