Volunteers in Action

Travelers Aid Chicago provides crisis intervention, information, and social services to travelers and visitors at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. Volunteers at Travelers Aid are assigned to a specific terminal either inside security or outside security depending on the need. Volunteers move around to different high-traffic confusion points, identifying and assisting travelers in need of assistance. Volunteers are also stationed at informational desks throughout the airport, providing basic resources and referral informational about the airport and the city of Chicago. Volunteers watch for and provide extra assistance to vulnerable passengers travelers through O'Hare. Training is provided for all volunteer opportunities. Most Travelers Aid volunteers work one shift per week. Our shifts are any day Monday through Friday, 9AM-2PM or 2-6PM or 6-8:30PM. On Saturdays we have shifts from 10:30 am - 3 pm and from 3 pm - 7 pm. On Sundays we have shifts from 11 am - 3 pm and from 3 pm - 7 pm. Travelers Aid requires volunteers to have regular schedules and put in a minimum of two shifts per month to keep badges current.
