Will visit patients to provide spiritual support. Must be caring and compassionate and able to maintain patient and family confidentiality while supporting a dying individual and their family. Must be able to provide spiritual care to all faiths along with those without a particular faith. Spiritual Volunteers must be an active Hospice of the Western Reserve volunteer for six months before applying for spiritual care volunteer training. Some exceptions may be made to the six month rule for Clergy and those with prior training on a case by case basis. The prospective spiritual care volunteer will be interviewed by a spiritual care coordinator before admittance to this program.

In celebration of the individual worth of each life, we strive to relieve suffering, enhance comfort, promote quality of life, foster choice in end-of-life care and support effective grieving.
Description
Hospice of the Western Reserve provides care for patients where ever they call home, whether that be at home, in a nursing home, assisted living, one of our inpatient units, or in a hospital. Care is provided regardless of ability to pay. We use a team approach where volunteers are of equal importance to all other members of the team.
Hospice of the Western Reserve serves Northern Ohio with offices in Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Stark, and Summit counties.CAUSE AREAS
