Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP)

The Hospital Elder Life Program is looking for compassionate, responsible, and mature individuals.

*H.E.L.P. IS THE ONLY VOLUNTEER PROGRAM IN THE HOSPITAL THAT PROVIDES "HANDS ON" EXPERIENCE.

*Volunteers will be trained to use techniques to maintain our elderly patient’s best functioning through therapeutic activities such as range of motion exercises and reminiscence therapy.

*Great experience, flexible hours

*Great opportunity for retirees and Nursing Students (nteresting topic for school assignments (Delirium and the Elderly).

The Hospital Elder Life Program is a unique opportunity for you to acquire a desirable skill set in the field of healthcare in a hospital setting. This program is aimed at maintaining independence to the hospitalized older adult and preventing hospital acquired delirium.

The purpose of the Volunteer Services Department is to provide qualified, trained volunteer personnel to supplement and extend the activities of the salaried staff in their efforts to provide excellence in health care according to the highest ethical and professional standards.


Volunteers perform specific duties and functions, working together with salaried staff to provide quality services to patients and visitors in a compassionate and caring setting, ever cognizant of the Hospital?s stated Mission, Vision and Values. The program is designed to meet the needs and interests of both the Volunteer and the Hospital.


The Volunteer Services Department also furthers good relations between the Hospital and the community by offering adults and teenagers of the area the opportunity to serve others.

Description

The Volunteer Services Department welcomes volunteers ages 14 and up to help augment our paid staff. Volunteers at Trinitas Hospital find their service to be rewarding and satisfying.
