Make a difference in the world at Merrimack Valley Hospice...one person at a time!
Want a meaningful way to make a big impact in someone's life? Join our big-hearted hospice team, dedicated to supporting people living with terminal illnesses. During this pandemic, our volunteers have still been able to serve patients/families, albeit remotely, while our clinicians have donned PPE to provide excellent in-person care. Remote volunteering options will continue to be available to our volunteers, even when COVID-19 is no longer a concern.
Our volunteers are welcomed as respected members of our care team, whether they have a desire to help with patients/families, or (when we are no longer in "pandemic mode") in the office. We are looking for people interested in being patient/caregiver companions, sewers for our keepsake program, legacy listeners, certified pet therapy handlers, bereavement supporters, or Veteran to Veteran companions who can listen and share military experiences. Whether volunteers work "up close and personal", or prefer to stay behind the scenes, we are happy to work around our volunteers' schedules.
Currently, we are offering training via Zoom. Training is informative, easy, and enriching. It is designed to give volunteers the tools to be confident and comfortable working with our patients. We take our mission seriously, but we also have fun while partnering with our patients on their journey.
If this post resonates with you, I look forward to talking to you about how you can make a difference in the world as a member of our hospice team!
