Milwaukee Pets Alive isn’t just another rescue. We are here to shape rescue. Join us as a Marketing Coordinator volunteer!

Marketing is extremely important to the work Milwaukee Pets Alive (MPA) does. From recruiting the need for foster homes that save the lives of the special needs/considerations animals we serve, to spreading the word about our adoptable animals, to letting residents in the Milwaukee Metro Area know about our special events that help fund the life-saving, to educating our community about caring for/respecting the animals we share our world with, to increasing overall general awareness about the important work we do and why it’s so important for Milwaukee’s companion animals - marketing is integral to the success of our No Kill, 501c3 nonprofit organization.

Marketing Coordinators will use a range of approaches from traditional to guerrilla marketing techniques (as well as good old fashioned creativity!) to let our community know that Milwaukee Pets Alive is rescuing those animals passed over by other rescues and shelters for which we are their only hope for life - and we need the community’s help in a big way to save these precious lives!

Marketing Coordinators will develop relationships with the press, media, and members of the community to make Milwaukee Pets Alive a household name when it comes to saving lives of Milwaukee’s companion animals and a go-to source on animal welfare-related topics and will increase MPA’s presence in all media outlets in Milwaukee and SE Wisconsin.

Marketing Coordinators will increase Milwaukee Pets Alive's use of more traditional marketing concepts and outlets to reach those who care about animals that may not use social media/online tools or only use them infrequently. Will also apply targeted marketing strategies to help match animals with special needs with individuals with the right environment and resources to meet those needs.

One of our core values is education and the best way to educate people is to have conversations, face-to-face - one of our favorite things to do! We love talking about animals and helping other people help their animals! MPA currently has a strong online presence so we are looking for Marking Coordinators to focus on increasing Milwaukee Pets Alive's physical presence in the community through outreach/tabling/marketing events in a variety of settings.

Marketing Coordinators will work with the MPA Special Events Coordinators to assist with promoting upcoming MPA events.

Marketing Coordinators must attend a marketing meeting every other month (6 a year) to share ideas and coordinate with other members of the Marketing Team. Marketing Coordinators must also attend any additional meetings deemed necessary for proper planning by the Executive Director and other Marketing Coordinators such as when working on a special project. Marketing coordination tasks are done outside of planning meetings on your own or in collaboration with other volunteers. Work on volunteer tasks around your schedule!

We are looking for several volunteers to fill several Marketing Coordinator roles with MPA. The right individuals will strongly believe in our mission, vision, and core values (please visit our website, www.milwaukeepetsalive.org to learn about us before inquiring/applying for this volunteer position) and have a sincere interest in elevating our organization, extending our reach, and growing with us (so commitment and dedication are important). Must be motivated, and a self-starter with initiative and drive and the ability to work independently. Must also be willing and able to accept direction to produce messaging, results, and practices consistent with that of the overall organization as a whole. Individuals must be able to follow through on their commitments. Attention to detail and consistent organizational messaging is critical. Since the focus of our marketing need is education, outreach, and increasing MPA’s presence in the community, Marketing Coordinator volunteers should be outgoing, and enjoy and be comfortable talking with people. MPA is looking for volunteers to fill these roles who recognize the importance of working on behalf of the special animals we serve and will work hard for them as they are counting on us to save their lives!

Marketing experience not required, but very welcome if you have it. Creativity is a must!

When many people do a little to make a difference, together, we make change. Marketing is an integral (and creative!) part of serving the special needs/considerations animals we do and providing them everything and anything they need to be happy and healthy and home. Milwaukee Pets Alive is an all-volunteer, No Kill, 501c3 non-profit organization that focuses on saving those animals that have been passed over by, or would not be accepted into, other rescues and shelters and would have no other option for life except for through our organization. These animals may be shy, scared, under-socialized, injured, aged, differently-abled, or need extra medical resources - all deserve the chance to be loved and cherished. Their lives are important. We couldn’t help these special animals of our community that we do if not for the wonderful people who volunteer their time and talents!
