Outline of Representative Board Member
CRN is looking to add a few committed, well-connected, board members. CRN is a growing organization, positively affecting the lives of metro Atlanta's homeless, abused, and abandoned children. CRN works with over 2,200 kids at any one time, in 129 shelters and group homes in 19 counties around metro Atlanta. CRN has a board that is down-to-earth, hard-working, serious, and still manages to have fun. If someone is looking to make a difference in the lives of homeless children, think about CRN.
Board Member's Desired Skills and Attributes
Our ideal board member would be:
Dedicated: Be enthusiastic about helping the children and mothers we serve. Take an interest in our programs and contribute to their growth and improvement.
Financial Responsibility: Board Members are responsible for the financial health of CRN. Each will provide a minimum monetary support of $5,000 and/or in-kind contributions through time or donations or a combination thereof. This will include a minimum personal contribution of $1,000 .
Articulate: Board Members should be well spoken, as they are CRN's ambassadors to the community. Board Members should be able to speak intelligently and knowledgeably about CRN and its role in the community.
Hard working: Board Members should be willing and able to spend at least 4 hours per month working on a CRN committee or talking to business and community leaders soliciting volunteers, financial support, or in-kind goods and services.
Compassionate: Board Members should understand as well as possible the children and mothers we serve. Empathy for CRN clients, their hardships and struggles will make Members better spokespeople as they tell CRN's story.
Available: Board Members should be able to attend the majority of Board Meetings either in person or through conference calls. Members should be able to communicate as needed with the Board or any committees the Member serves on.
Character: Board Members should be honest, open about CRN business, tolerant of diverse views, a team player, community-minded, and possess a sense of humor.

Mission Statement
Children's Restoration Network (CRN) offers hope and support, enabling children and their mothers to break the cycle of homelessness by empowering them to become part of mainstream society as active productive citizens: and through programs and special events designed to address their academic, emotional, and physical needs.
Description
Our vision is to form effective community partnerships to cultivate the restoration of a positive family environment for homeless children. As a non profit agency, our focus is on the plight of homeless children in our community. In addition to meeting basic needs, CRN conducts special events to provide a broad range of positive experiences for the children and their mothers to promote healthy and happy community interaction. Since 1993, CRN has dedicated its efforts to fulfilling its vision and mission statement currently working with over 120 shelters and group homes throughout metro Atlanta. CRN also provides homeless children and mothers with basic necessities such as providing food and subsidizing rent and utilities, for shelters supplementing their food pantries, and providing furniture, housewares and other assistance for families recovering from homelessness.
