Thank you for your continued dedication to the Parks and Recreation Department. To protect public health and slow the rate of transmission of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus), all recreation centers, pools, and facilities managed by the Parks and Recreation Department will close to the public until further notice. For the time being, all volunteers are asked to stay home, Thank you.
Join our Park Rangers as we come together and beautify/preserve Juniper Canyon. this opportunity takes place on the second Saturday of each month, form 9am to noon. Depending on the day’s work and season, you may find yourself removing invasive plants, re-planning natives, or even picking up trash!
What to bring:
- A re-useable water bottle
- Snacks
- Sun protection
- Weather appropriate clothing
We will provide:
- A H20 fill-up station
- Tools
- Gloves
- And a positive, exciting experience!
Date: Juniper Canyon volunteer events take place on the second Saturday of each month.
Time: 9:00 A.M - 12:00 P.M.
Meeting location: Juniper Canyon 1706 Whaley Ave. San Diego, CA 92104. Please note: this location does not have restrooms.

Description
San Diego's Park and Recreation Department is responsible for overseeing nearly 40,000 acres of developed and undeveloped open space, more than 340 parks including Balboa Park, Mission Trails Regional Park, and Mission Bay Park; 25 miles of shoreline from Sunset Cliffs to La Jolla; 13 pools; 3 public golf complexes; 56 recreation centers and more. Park and recreation professionals and volunteers host hundreds of community events each year and provide safe places for thousands of children to go after school. City employees and volunteers take great pride to enrich the lives of others through quality parks and programs, designed and developed so that people of all ages, abilities and income levels have the chance to participate in excellent recreational opportunities.
