The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. This is a unique opportunity for volunteers, it compares to no other in town! At our stingray viewing pool, you will spend your time welcoming visitors and answering questions about our aquatic exhibits and other marine life. A typical volunteer shift may include showing a child different types of shark teeth or sharing with adults how stingrays and sharks have no bones! No previous experience required, just bring an enthusiasm for learning & sharing about ocean animals! This is a year-round opportunity and requires volunteers to commit to 4 hours per month for the duration of their volunteering. This volunteer position does not include any feeding, cleaning or care of animals.
