This is a unique opportunity for volunteers, it compares to no other in town! At our stingray viewing pool, you will spend your time welcoming visitors and answering questions about our aquatic exhibits and other marine life. A typical volunteer shift may include showing a child different types of shark teeth or sharing with adults how stingrays and sharks have no bones! No previous experience required, just bring an enthusiasm for learning & sharing about ocean animals! This is a year-round opportunity and requires volunteers to commit to 4 hours per month for the duration of their volunteering. This volunteer position does not include any feeding, cleaning or care of animals.

Description

Our butterfly conservatory is home to more than 800 tropical butterflies from around the world! Along with amazing plant life, there is a relaxing waterfall and koi pond. Not to mention, an emergence window where you can watch brand-new adult butterflies emerge from their chrysalis! We also offer the Cove area; which, houses over 20,000 gallons of salt-water aquariums and over 200 aquatic animal species. Along with the largest collection of living corals in the midwest, two interactive touch pools, and a 360 degree pop-up dome aquarium! Our facility offers many amazing sites from Above, Below, and Beyond!
