Southern Stingray

This is a unique opportunity for volunteers, it compares to no other in town! In our Aquarium, you will spend your time welcoming visitors and answering questions about our aquatic exhibits and other marine life. A typical volunteer shift may include showing a child different types of shark teeth or sharing with adults how stingrays and sharks have no bones! No previous experience required, just bring an enthusiasm for learning and sharing about ocean animals! This is a year-round opportunity and requires volunteers to commit to 4 hours per month for the duration of their volunteering. This volunteer position does not include any feeding, cleaning or care of animals.

In light of COVID-19 the Butterfly House and Aquarium requires ALL staff and volunteers to wear a face covering during the duration of their shift. For the safety of our staff, volunteers, and guests, ALL guests* are required to wear a face covering upon entrance to the facility. There are also several hand sanitizing stations at the entrance to each exhibit and heightened cleaning procedures throughout the day.

*Guests under the age of 2 should not wear a face covering. Guests between the ages of 2-6 are encouraged to wear a face covering. Please inquire with the Butterfly House and Aquarium Staff with further questions.
