Erie House in Little Village is launching its summer reading day camp! Designed to combat the traditional dip in reading scores over the summer READS summer program engages students with fun and creative activities that keep their body and mind active.
This summer we will learn about art from different artists (and of course make it too!), conduct some fun science experiments, and cook up some vegetables from our community garden.
Volunteers can come in for the whole day from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm or just come in for when the volunteers provide reading tutoring, which is from 11:30 am to 1:30PM. We do ask that volunteers interested in tutoring to commit for the entire summer program at least once a week (the same day and time each week), but if folks are interested coming in more days, we would love that!
Starting June 24 through August 15. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10 am - 2:00 pm (whole day) or 11:30 am -1:30pm.
