Veggielution is a 6 acre non-profit community farm dedicated to creating a more sustainable food system in San Jose. We empower people to change the way they think about food by getting their hands in the soil, connecting with the land, and tasting the fruits of their labor.

Veggielution aims to engage the San Jose community in constructing a food system that provides all members of our community easy access to healthy, local food. By volunteering on our farm, you will help advance this goal. Opportunities are available for both individuals and groups and include farm-work, skilled labor, as well as community outreach. We are strongly dedicated to building and nurturing a strong community, able to confront the social and environmental challenges surrounding food in today’s world. As such, we welcome volunteers of all ages and backgrounds.

If you are a community service learner (receiving credit for school) please bring whatever paperwork you need signed as we will only sign off on hours the same day they are completed.

Veggielution Community Farm strives to integrate the community, especially East San José, in all farm activities, from volunteering at workdays to participating in our educational workshops. Our Outreach volunteers support this effort by flyering and tabling at public events, reaching out to new community groups, making presentations about Veggielution, and recruiting new volunteers. Our minimum time commitment for our Outreach volunteers is 6 hours a month for 6 months. We are always looking for outreach volunteers with fluency in Spanish, Tagalog, Chinese, and Vietnamese. Our ideal volunteers are knowledgeable of current issues surrounding food, health, and sustainable agriculture and comfortable talking to groups of people.
