We need volunteers that are willing to help refugees achieve self sufficiency by providing various services that guide our refugees through the resettlement process. These services include:
-Mentoring
-Employment counseling/ job training
-Translating/ teaching English
-Welcoming the newcomer into a community
-Donation delivery and transportation of refugee
-Apartment set up
-Company to Appointments
Refugees are among the world's most vulnerable and displaced people, They are individual and families that that were forced from their homeland due to persecution or "well founded fear of persecution for reasons of race, religion, nationality membership in a social group or political opinion"
Due to the many different aspects of this position, all are tailored to your comfort level. No prior experience with refugees is needed. All we ask is that you have the passion to help others. Refugees are among the world's most vulnerable and displaced people. They are individuals and families that were forced out of their homeland due to persecution or the well-founded fear of persecution for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership in a social group or political opinion.
Our program emphasizes attaining self-sufficiency by learning English and obtaining employment of refugees.
