WYS

Did you know that less than 50% of the children with mental health conditions receive the services they need? Western Youth Services is changing that. Our outpatient clinics provide intensive intervention clinical care services to treat mental, behavioral or emotional conditions. Services include case management, therapy, parenting, support and Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) such as Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Functional Family Therapy (FFT), and in-home Therapeutic Behavior Services. These clients are our county’s most vulnerable and they are referred to us when they are in crisis mode. These services are publicly funded.

This position calls for a volunteer who can help out Western Youth Services by assisting with administrative work, providing developmentally appropriate activates with children in the lobby while parent is in session as needed, and providing interpretation and translation for Spanish speaking clients, families, clinicians, and psychiatrist during therapy sessions.

Western Youth Services (WYS), founded in 1972, is a community-based non-profit agency that provides prevention and mental health treatment services for troubled youth and their families. WYS programs include children's mental health clinics throughout Orange County; services in Family Resource Centers in Anaheim, Brea, Fullerton, La Habra, Orange, Westminster and Huntington Beach; and counseling and crisis intervention services for the Orangewood Children's Home, a facility that cares for abused and neglected children.
