We need volunteers to support 3rd-6th grade students in their English & Spanish reading & vocabulary development. Necesitamos muchos voluntarios bilingües/hispanohablantes este año para apoyar a los estudiantes de tercero hasta sexto grado en el desarrollo de su lectura y vocabulario en inglés y en español.

A Reading Buddy meets individually with a student for about 20-30 minutes, listening to the student read & supporting the student through encouragement & asking questions about the story. Un Compañero de Lectura se reune con un estudiante durante 20-30 minutos, escuchando a su lectura y apoyando al estudiante con preguntas y plática sobre el cuento.

Reading Buddies meet with students any time between 8:30 am - 10:30 am on most Friday mornings on the FGIS campus, when school is in session. If Fridays do not fit in your schedule but you would still like to help, contact us. Los Compañeros de Lectura se reunen con los estudiantes durante las horas de 8:30am-10:30am la mayoría de los viernes en la escuela FGIS. Si todavía quiere ayudar pero no puede venir los viernes, póngase en contacto con nosotros.

Since Spanish is our target language, students receive the majority of their schooling in Spanish. Each year, the percentage of Spanish is reduced as English curriculum is increased.
