Volunteers are needed to serve a meal to guests and welcome people to a restaurant-like environment. Join us as we connect with the human spirit over a warm meal.
Volunteers are asked not to wear flip flops, open shoes, or high heels for safety reasons and to dress modestly. The agency suggests that volunteers wear either a short sleeve or long sleeve t-shirt, capris/jeans (or something similar), and sneakers. Long hair must be pulled back. If you are a team captain, please share this information with your teammates.
We schedule our volunteers in advance, so once you sign up we expect that you will attend. Meals are not served without you. Parking is available for volunteers in a lot next to the facility.
An average of 300 guests are served each day, six days a week. As a result of the high volume, plastic forks, Ziploc bags, napkins and paper towels are used frequently. Donations of these items are appreciated and welcomed.

Mission Statement
As a leader in volunteerism in New Jersey, Jersey Cares increases the level of meaningful volunteer engagement by creating and managing efficient, impactful projects that address critical community-identified needs.
Description
Jersey Cares works to meet community needs by making volunteering easy and meaningful. We provide flexible, structured, team-based opportunities for volunteers to impact a variety of nonprofit organizations and bring positive change to local communities. Jersey Cares works directly with local organizations to identify their needs, and trains volunteer leaders to manage projects that address those needs. Most projects are ongoing, and volunteers (other than the Project Coordinators) commit to only one day at a time. All of this enables you to volunteer whenever and however fits your interests and schedule, and yet always make a real difference. Simply choose "Volunteer" from the left menu to get started on your volunteering adventure!
