Be an Ally to Refugee Youth

The Refugee Youth Mentoring Program pairs each volunteer with a refugee child age 9-17 in a one-year, one-on-one mentoring relationship. Mentors and mentees meet weekly at the child's home. Mentees and Mentors spend time together trying new things and fun activities such as hiking at Stone Mountain, attending sporting events, visiting the aquarium or museums, etc., and the occasional homework help.

Eligibility:

  • Mentors must be 21+ years old
  • Willing to complete a formal application packet, 2 Background checks, training
  • Meet agency auto insurance requirements as applicable (if transporting clients)
  • Willing to meet with mentee weekly for 1 hour per week OR 4 hours per month for one year, typically in or near Clarkston, GA
  • Virtual or Hybrid options are available
