The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know about the most effective ways to contribute.
If you're driven by extending great customer service to those around you, we have a position that would suit you well! Michigan Blood is looking for volunteers to help in the Post Donation area, where they would be responsible for providing great customer service by socializing with donors, observing donors for reactions, and offering refreshments after the donation process while donors wait out a 15-minute stay. Any time you can give is extremely appreciated. You can volunteer as often or as little as you want. This opportunity is perfect for those in college, retired, and those working who want to be more involved in their community. No experience is necessary, just a friendly, dependable, and caring attitude, and a willingness to travel to blood drives. Blood drives occur in a variety of communities, and chances are we hold blood drives in a community near you. Training is provided by Michigan Blood. Please visit www.miblood.org to learn more, or call or email to speak with a Volunteer Services staff member. An application and orientation are required to become a Michigan Blood volunteer.
