Bucks County (Positively Aging Volunteer Program
The Bucks County Opportunity Council, Delaware Valley College and Philabundance have collaborated to grow and package fresh produce to be distributed to Bucks County food pantries. This charitable initiative, known as Hope of the Harvest, produced over 15,000 pounds of food in its inaugural growing season. Using a plot on the Doylestown campus of Delaware Valley College, the Bucks County Opportunity Council will help to grow cucumbers, cantaloupes, sweet corn, squash, tomatoes and other produce.
Volunteers are needed weekly to stake, sow, seed, weed and package produce in the garden, now through October. Groups are welcome!
Volunteers are needed on Tuesday FROM 9am -12 NOON.
Information is provided for type of clothing need., assignments addressed and great way to meet and work along with your peers to feed the hungry.
