The Pearlman Food Pantry at Jewish Family Services is deemed an emergency, SUPER food pantry to help feed the community. The volunteer opportunity would range from assisting the clients receiving the food to organzing and stocking the shelves.
The pantry hours are Monday and Wednesday between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM; Tuesday and Thursdays between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM. The scheduling for the pantry can be very flexible. Hunger Heroes (HHs) can sign up for 2 hour or 4 hour shifts. HHs will work in pairs. You could commit to weekly shift or just be willing to be called upon when needed.
Physical requirements: Must be able to stand for up to 2 hours. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. Bending, kneeling, squatting.
Closed toed shoes are required. Comfortable attire is recommended.
All volunteers 18 years and above are subject to a Level 1 Background Check. Children under the age of 14 must be accompied by a parent/guardian. Minimum age to volunteer is 10 years of age.
