Saving Paws Animal Rescue

Saving Paws is a 501(c)(3) no-kill animal rescue staffed entirely by volunteers!

We work with dogs and cats. Our dogs are hosted in foster homes and at the rescue while they wait to be adopted. Many of our cats also live at the rescues cat house or are in foster homes until they meet their forever families.

We are looking for volunteers with a kind heart who are passionate about helping save the lives of our furry friends. We rely entirely on volunteers to care for the homeless, abandoned, injured and special needs pets we shelter. We are in constant need of volunteers to help in a variety of areas.

We provide orientation and hands-on training so you are fully prepared for your volunteer duties!

Our opportunities for volunteers include:

  • Dog Care

Dog Care Volunteers must be eighteen (18) years of age or older, and must have attended animal care training.

Volunteers must clean and sanitize dog kennels four times daily at designated times, make sure all dogs are fed, taken outside for potty and exercise, and socialized as well!

  • Cat Care

Must be 11 years of age or older to volunteer with a parent, sixteen (16) years of age or older to volunteer under supervision of an experienced volunteer, and eighteen (18) years of age or older to volunteer alone. Cat Care Volunteers must complete animal care training.

Cat care volunteers are responsible for keeping all cat living areas and cages clean. They scoop the litter boxes, sweep the floors, and keep our felines fed and provided with fresh water. Most importantly, these volunteers spend time with our cats, brushing them, petting them, playing with them, or even just talking to them.

  • Fostering

Fostering is one of the most important things we do at Saving Paws! When a volunteer welcomes a pregnant mama-to-be, a new litter, a special-needs pet, or an aging senior into their home, they provide a safe and loving environment for each animal, where all of the animal's needs are met. Some pets may only stay with their foster family for a short period of time while they await adoption, while other animals are long-term residents of a volunteer's home.
