Every life is a story unique in itself, and every story deserves a place to be held and shared. Life on the Page gives our hospice patients a place to record their stories - to be captured and to be shared.
Volunteers needed to assist hospice patients in recording their life stories, and/or creating journals for patients who are unable to recollect and share their journeys.

Description
Volunteers are the heart of hospice! We need your caring hearts and helping hands to help with our terminally ill patients and their families. The hours are flexible and you will be assigned to a patient who lives near your home or place of work. There are many ways you can make a difference as a Compassus Hospice Volunteer.
Volunteers visit with patients who have life limiting illnesses. Visiting may consist of providing meaningful conversation, playing cards, reading to a patient, looking through photo albums, etc. Volunteers may also help with errands or provide support for the caregivers. Most of our patients reside in nursing homes, group homes, assisted livings or their private residence.
We also utilize administrative volunteers. There are a lot of tasks in the office we can use help with.
As a volunteer, you are part of a professional care team which includes doctors, nurses, aides, chaplains and social workers. The time commitment made by volunteers is flexible and training is provided.
Skills: Compassionate and able to keep commitments.
