ORGANIZATION: National MS Society - Greater Carolinas Chapter

Purpose: Provide mobile route support for Bike MS cyclists by providing minimal disruption, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring rider safety

Responsibilities May Include:

* Monitoring each day's start and watching the route to assist with vehicular traffic flow as needed

* Patrol route ahead of cyclists looking for hazards or obstacles; handling minor accidents

* Serve as first responder to cyclists needing mechanical or medical assistance; notify Communications Headquarters of incidents

* Communicate with Communications Headquarters and respond to requests for support

Motorcycle Support Team members must waar helmets. Each Motorcycle Support Team member must have a valid motorcycle driver's license and proof of insurance covering the motorcycle used in the Bike MS Event. The motorcycle is required to have working hazard lights. Motorcycle trailers are not allowed on the route. Trikes or sidecar rigs must be approved by the Motorcycle Support Team Coordinator. For cycling safety reasons, motorcycles with loud exhausts are not encouraged.
