Purpose: Provide required first aid and emergency care as needed.
Responsibilities include:
* Provide first aid support to cyclists at assigned rest stop from its opening to closing
* Provide initial accident/injury assessment and on-site treatment
* Hand out over-the-counter medications, bandages, sun screen, etc. as requested by cyclists
* Assist rest stop team with food and water duties when you are not engaged with first aid priorities
* Notify ham radio operator and volunteer captain at your location of any emergency situation
* Complete accident/injury report for any first aid service provided and complete medical treatment log
* Roam rest stop crowd looking for problems. Many cyclists are novices and may not recognize the sign of heat distress, fatigue, etc.
* Inventory supplies so they can be restocked for the next day's rest stop
