Mentors spend 6 hours a month for 12 to 15 months in one-on-one contact with a pregnant and/or parenting teen mom. Mentors are invited to attend monthly update meetings with their mentees. An application, screening, and training process takes place before a volunteer is matched with a teen parent.

The mission of the St. Louis Volunteer Resource Parents (SLVRP) program is to promote safe children, healthy and self sufficient families, and strong communities through volunteer community mentors, educational programs, and referrals to community resources for pregnant and parenting youth age of 21 and under.
