Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care is seeking men, women and young adults ages 18 or over to provide caring compassion to our patients and their families as they undergo a challenging time in their lives. Our Volunteers provide brief respite breaks for weary caregivers, emotional support for the patient and their family and a way to maintain contact with the outside world and current events. Volunteers may also provide practical care such as light housekeeping chores, errands, meal preparation, folding laundry and even assistance with pet care. Our "WE HONOR VETERANS" program matches service-related volunteers to patients who have served our country. If patient volunteering is not for you, we also have office/administrative duties/tasks available for anyone wishing to volunteer their time and talent.

Description
Since 1983, we have been providing the highest level of compassionate, quality hospice and palliative care for those who are facing a serious illness. We allow you to spend more quality time with those you love and do the things that are most important to you.
We began as Hospice of Surry County, Inc, and then merged with Northern Hospice of Surry County in 2005 to form Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care. We serve patients and families facing serious illnesses in 18 counties throughout North Carolina and Virginia. Through our scope of services, we care for the entire family, not just a set of symptoms. We provide care for patients wherever they call home.
Our health care team consists of Physicians, Nurses, Nursing assistants, Chaplains, Counselors, and Volunteers. We invite you to learn more about us and our scope of services that include: Support groups, Kids’ Path services for children, Special programs for Veterans, Alzheimer’s support, and Grief Support.
