The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. Citizenship Class Instructors are currently needed at the following San Diego County Library Branches: San Marcos (Wednesdays, 9:30am to 11am), 4S Ranch (Mondays, 1pm to 2:30pm), Poway (Mondays, 6:30pm to 7:45pm) and Ramona (Tuesdays, 6pm to 7:30pm).
Requirements- High School Diploma- U.S. citizen- Pass County's background check - Fluent English Speaker
Responsibilities- Teach civics to prospective citizens using established curriculum, workbooks and materials.- Help students understand citizenship application questions. - Collect and report records of students and their attendance. - Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment.
Commitment- A minimum of 6 months- Class is once weekly for an hour and a half.
