Chrysalis Center, Inc.

  • 52 people are interested

We are currently looking for individuals to help in Freshplace, our onsite fresh food pantry, which provides nutritious food and case management services to individuals and families living in the poorest neighborhoods in Hartford. We are looking for individuals to fill the gap until our regular volunteers who are in high risk categories can return. The start date for the opportunity will be in December. Volunteers must be 18 or older.

Responsibilities include: sorting donated food and organizing pantry shelves.

Where: Freshplace, Chrysalis Center, 255 Homestead Ave, Hartford.

When: Thursdays (every other week) 10 am - 2 pm (or earlier)

We will be observing strict social distancing, including wearing masks and gloves and limiting the number of people in the food pantry at one time. We are looking for volunteers who are not in the high risk group for COVID-19 (over 60 years old or with a condition that affects the immune system). Freshplace is a great environment to volunteer - the position is rewarding and a lot of fun!
