Cooking Matters strives to empower low income families who are at risk or experiencing hunger with food skills and nutrition education. Our Cooking Matters at the Store tours are interactive, guided grocery store tours that help participants learn to make healthy purchasing choices on a limited budget. Using our Cooking Matters at the Store facilitator guide and support resources, facilitators are able to walk through the grocery store and teach families about label reading, unit pricing, and choosing healthy meals on a budget.
Volunteers work in the community, rather than one central location. There are opportunities all over the Denver Metro area, and likely near you! The address for this posting is our main office, where you will attend new volunteer training.
These one time events take place throughout the week across Colorado. To get started, sign up for a new volunteer training on event calendar at http://co.cookingmatters.org/sf/calendar. You can email firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more about this and other opportunities to volunteer with us.
We'll work with your schedule.
